Before the Nigerian Government starts blaming communities for terror that abounds, they need to take responsibility as do all other countries in the world.

Rather than sentencing terrorists to death as ordained by Nigeria's Anti Terror laws, the Buhari government cosies with all sorts of terrorists, signs agreements with them and releases them back into societies illegally without passing them through proper and serious courts to be given capital punishment due. This is the reason why recalcitrant terror abounds in Nigeria.

Nigeria's leaders are a joke. We have a crop of leaders who bring their four wives to our "hallowed" chambers to demonstrate their "manly prowess."

We have chiefs of staff who set up unconstitutional amnesties for terrorists without seeking the required approval by the Council of State, thereby corrupting the system, violating the laws of God and man and leading to the continued presence of killers and rapists on our streets.

We have an undeserving presidency that will never fire irresponsible chiefs of service who are past retirement in spite of their failures to abet terror on the land.

We have state governors who smile in pictures with self-confessed terrorists brandishing rifles they have used to send spouses to an early grave.

In Cameroon hundreds of Boko Haram terrorists have bene put t death.

In Kenya, numerous terrorists have been hung.

In Chad, Boko Haram terrorists have been sentenced to death.

But in Nigeria, they are given fruit juices, fine clothes and freed back on to the streets with a sweet stipend, to mingle with and intimidate the very communities whose loved ones they have massacred. This is the insanity. Then rather than accept responsibility for their callousness, the government of Nigeria blames the exposed victims for the terror they are subjected to by the failures of the authorities who are the only people licensed to carry arms.

When there is no law and no justice from the government, the people are at the mercy of terror. When terrorists are freed back into society, which sensible citizen will report a terrorists knowing that in a few months the same terrorists will be back in town to point him or her out to the leaders of the terrorist organization?

Buhari blames community leaders but has failed to arrest a single one of them. The Buhari government tossed the case of APC senator Ndume. Today he sits proudly in the "Hallowed chamber."

The Nigerian government lies to its people and subjects them to terror by claiming and pretending that Boko Haram has been defeated, whereas they have a standing agreement to allow the terrorists continue to roam across Borno while sentencing the good peoples of the state to imprisonment under curfew in Maiduguri capital and in fortified displacement camps.

The great governor of Borno constantly begs for real change. He begs the government to liberate to communities and farmlands to enable the displaced people return home and to earn their daily living. His pleas fall on deaf ears. He has called ot the army who rather than protect the people, collects bribes form them on the roads. As a result, the Buhari-led army has decided to stop protecting Borno and has left the people to the mercy of the terrorists. The massacre at Auno was just one of many results of the many daily deadly events that the Buhari government has only won the war of silencing the ability of the media to expose.

At this stage any sensitive and conscientious presidency would have resigned for its inability to protect the masses and stepped aside to allow people with the commitment to protect life, take over at the helm. Abaribe's call was in order. Where the government fails its duty, it must step aside.

We mourn the 30 dead in Katsina. We mourn the 30 dead in Borno and the three busloads of women and children abducted because the military shut them out of the capital within five minutes of the unconstitutional 5pm city gate closure.

May God save Nigeria from bad leaders.

A group, Concerned Nigerians, has called for a holistic review of the judgment on Imo State governorship election by the Supreme Court.

In a statement by its convener, Deji Adeyanju, the group berated the apex court for putting itself in a position where citizens now have to question its pronouncement.

Recall that the Supreme Court on January 14, 2020 sacked Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party as governor and announced All Progressives Congress’ Hope Uzodinma as winner of the election despite finishing fourth on the standings.

The group further stated that they had been reliably informed that the Supreme Court planned to use the same panel that delivered the earlier verdict to review the judgment on Tuesday.

The statement reads, “They’ve decided to fix both Zamfara and Imo reviews on Tuesday so that they can strike a political balance but no amount of political correctness and expediency can solve the injustice done in Imo where the Supreme Court awarded votes that never existed to the APC.

"How can the apex court explain how it awarded votes to Hope Uzodinma of APC beyond the number of registered voters and accredited voters in the election?

“The Supreme Court relied on the supposed fake result sheets that had only APC and PDP on them when 70 political parties contested the election.

“The attempt by the apex court to redeem its image by gifting the opposition Bayelsa State will still not correct the injustice done in Imo.

"The irreducible minimum the Supreme Court can do in ensuring that justice prevails in Imo is to ensure that the mistake done by the judges be corrected especially as regards the numbers that are not adding up.”

Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, has described the prosecution of Omoyele Sowore as a waste of time and the nation's resources.

Soyinka, who spoke during an interview session with Plus TV Africa, also slammed Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, saying he had committed a lot of blunders in his administration.

Speaking on the ongoing prosecution of Sowore by the government for calling for a peaceful protest, he lamented that the government was wasting the nation's resources to prosecute the case.

He also condemned the bail conditions Sowore was admitted to, which includes his confinement to Abuja even though Sowore had no place of residence in that city.

He said, "I don't understand why this young man is being barricaded in one city that is not his own with very stringent bail conditions and the whole exercise, this is punitive and petulant.

"The case is time-wasting and person-wasting and also wasting the time of lawyers who could be attending to far more serious cases.

"Definitely, time-wasting and wasting of public expenses and attention on serious issues."

Soyinka, who was at the court to witness the trial last week, berated the prosecuting team for displaying lack of readiness to get done with the matter.

He added, "The prosecution was obviously not prepared to move on after this long adjournment and to see the fireworks they have in their stock but we didn't, I can't understand this nonsense."

Soyinka described Buhari as one, who wakes up late to happenings in the country.

No less than 2,000 new Coronavirus patients were recorded in China on Sunday, the country’s health authorities disclosed.

The authorities also said 142 deaths were recorded, bringing the number of deaths to 1,665.

As of Sunday morning, the confirmed number of infected people reached 68,500.

The rate of people diagnosed with the new Coronavirus dropped slightly in Hubei province, although the death toll remained high at the epicentre of the outbreak.

Over the last 24-hour period, 1,843 new cases were reported, Hubei’s health commission said on Sunday, down from 2,420 the previous day.

According to the commission, 139 people died from the Covid-19 disease within the province during that period, the same number as during the previous 24-hour period.

Most of the deaths and infections occurred in the city of Wuhan where the virus was first detected in December.

In total, Hubei recorded more than 56,000 cases of the respiratory illness caused by the virus.

Outside of mainland China, four people have died of Covid-19 so far.

France on Saturday reported the first death in Europe, a Chinese tourist from Hubei.

The French Health Ministry announced later on Saturday that a 12th Coronavirus case had been diagnosed in the country.

The patient, a British national, had been staying in a chalet in the Alpine Ski Resort of Contamines-Montjoie where a cluster of six other cases had already been diagnosed.

The patient had been hospitalised in isolation in Lyon a week ago and tested for Coronavirus regularly since then with a positive result registered today.

Their condition was “not of concern as of today,” the ministry said.

The Boko Haram sect has released a new video threatening and warning those it considered hindrances to its activities.

The sect, through its factional leader, Abubakar Shekau, threatened the Minister of Communication for threatening to block their mobile lines.

Shekau, who has been reported dead multiple times, also warned the "BBC, Radio Germany, Radio France International, Dandal Kura, national dailies", saying his terrorist group is doing the work of Allah.

Shekau said, “I am speaking to those who pretend to be good Muslims but they are not. God will judge the hypocrites of Islam who use the platform of religion to achieve their selfish gains.

“We don’t judge people until we are sure of what we have seen in them.

“This video message is specifically released because of one man, who thinks he has the knowledge and is knowledgeable about religion. Keep this message in your heart until you die if you don’t repent.

‘‘From today, you will continue to live in sorrow, because I, Shekau, say so on behalf of Allah, Allah hears us, He is the judge in the hereafter.

“This warning is for Isa Ali Panatami; don’t think simply because you preach in English or because you are called a doctor, means you have knowledge of Islam. You know nothing.

‘‘Today you have become a minister, and you are feeling you can achieve your selfish ends. You must know that speaking English is not Islam.

“You said you are going to block phone lines and other means of communication to frustrate the activities of Boko Haram. But you must understand that we don’t depend on such to send out our messages.

‘‘Our messengers are like the angels of God. How dare you attempt to stop the works we are doing for the creator of the heavens and earth, simply because you have become a slave to the western world and the country. We pity you if you don’t repent.

“I swear to Allah, you are nothing. Initially, we were not bothered about you, but now you have become a slave to the infidels; repent now and become a good Muslim. If you don’t comply from now on, death will come to you, Isa Ali Pantami.

‘‘I call on my brothers in Africa, in Nigeria and everywhere to arise and take steps, what they did to (Sheik) Jafar is little. Anywhere you see Isa Ali Pantami, don’t spare him.

‘‘Isa Ali Pantami you are nothing; even Jafar tried the same thing but we dealt with him; talk less of you that is nothing in Islam. And from today on, you would not have peace of mind because you have dared Allah, his prophet and the religion of Islam.

“And you, President Buhari, you said you are almost 80 years old and you are busy going about, and now your people have started booing, right? You just wait for your angels of death.

“Buratai, (the chief of army staff); you are tired right? Wait for your day.

“The journalists on BBC, Radio Germany, Radio France International, Dandal Kura, national dailies, be very careful in all that you say about us. We are not dealing with you people; we are doing the work of Allah. Our trust is in Allah and not in human beings.

“We have understood your evil plots against the religion of Allah, and your hypocrisy has been made known to us. Go on and plot against us in secret, we too shall converge in secret and plot against (you) and see who will take the day.

“However, this video is purely created because of Isa Ali Pantami. And you Bulama Bukarti in England; you heard my words in the past. All these names I mention are insignificant elements.

“And you President Buhari, simply because some persons told you that they have killed our commanders, so now you are emboldened and you want to kill Shekau, right? Who is Shekau, a small person to you? But you are now in trouble Mr Buhari; you are in big trouble. I am still here, that little boy that has defied the leaders of the world. I am still around, you just wait, it will soon be over before we all meet in the hereafter.”
