Details have emerged on how Nigerian music producer, Michael Ajereh widely known as Don Jazzy, and Tiwatope Savage popularly known as Tiwa Savage, were invited by the Department of State Serviced for questioning over alleged political utterances against the administration of President Muhamamdu Buhari.

In recent months, following a sharp rise in sexual assault cases across Nigeria especially against women, Tiwa Savage began a movement known as “WeAreTired” in protest of the situation.

Through the movement, the musician called on Buhari's administration to take action to stem the tide of rape in the country.

According to findings by SaharaRepoters, this in addition to several posts on social media calling on the government to live up to its responsibilities to Nigerians earned Tiwa Savage an invitation by the DSS.

Together with Don Jazzy, Savage was invited to the DSS office in Lagos two weeks ago during which they were warned to be careful with their posts on the social media.

Shortly after that episode, the two celebrities together with colleagues Yemi Alade and Waje were summoned by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, who while sharing efforts they were making to tackle rape and other problems in the state and country, warned the musicians to steer clear of political comments in order not to incur the wrath of the President Buhari administration.

A member of Tiwa Savage's management team, who confirmed the development to SaharaRepoters, said that the celebrated female artiste will not stop speaking for Nigerians regardless of any move by governnent.

But as if to confirm the subtle warning from governnent, Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage both appear to have toned down their social media posts in recent days after the meeting with the DSS and police in Lagos.

For example, Don Jazzy, who is known to actively engage his numerous followers on social media, last posted anything on Twitter more than 22 hours while Tiwa never continued with her hashtag after the meeting with DSS Director at their Shangisha, Lagos office.

Apart from the two celebrities, the DSS has also invited a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Obadiah Mailafia, over his comments on the operations of Boko Haram in the Northern part of Nigeria.

While speaking on a radio programme, Mailafia had stated that a serving governor in the North was the commander of Boko Haram. See Also Politics Again, DSS Invites Former CBN Deputy Governor, Mailafia, Over Comments On Terrorism

He was invited twice for questioning by the DSS and also invited for interrogation by the police in Abuja, which he turned down by seeking a relief in court.

Nigeria's Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has erected a multi-million mansion in his native Katsina.

The building, discovered to have been erected within few months, is suspected to have been executed with suspected public funds.

SaharaReporters gathered the sprawling edifice is located in Shargalle under Dutsi Local Government Area.

The minister in 2018 allegedly spent millions of naira to design a logo for the failed Nigeria Air project.

In a petition to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria branch of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners asked the President to probe the financial commitment of Sirika to the suspended national carrier project.

The union alleged that Sirika was secretive about the spending of government to the project, saying that once investigated, billions of naira expended on the failed project would be unearthed.

Some stakeholders had alleged that for the logo design, which was awarded to a foreign firm, FROM6 Communication in Bahrain, cost the government a whopping $600,000 (about N219m).

Besides, the Nigerian Government approved the sum of N1.524,492,863.62 to hire Transaction Advisers and other projects for the now suspended national carrier.

Also, the road shows held in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom with hundreds of ministry staff, witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Understandings with aircraft manufacturers, technical personnel, Transaction Advisers, fast-track committee and others.

A whopping $300m earmarked as five per cent for the project by the Nigerian Government and several other millions of dollars are said to have been expended on the failed national carrier initiative.

Petition To President Buhari On Sirika

ATTENTION OF:
MR. PRESIDENT,
FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.

PROBE IS URGENTLY NEEDED ON HADI SIRIKA.
THE AVIATION MINISTER.

Mr. President,

The Concerned Citizens of Nigeria hereby invite, YOU, The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, herein referred as "Federal Government of Nigeria", to without delay commence the probe of the Aviation Minister: Hadi Sirika.

The Aviation Minister, having proudly displayed this Mulit Million Naira building built in Katsina State has alot of questions to answer.

Basically, corruption or corrupt practises must be investigated.

Mr President and EFCC Boss, therefore, should know that "NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW", if actually your government is fighting corruption then show it here without delay.

If an Igbo person or Yoruba person build this house in his or her state whilst serving as a Minister, the whole world will term the PERSON CORRUPT.

Please, Mr. President, I hope you know that what is "good for the goose, is also good for the garnder".

Khalid Mu’azu Izala, the Public Relations Officer of the Peoples Democratic Party in Gombe Local Government Area of Gombe State, has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly insulting Governor Inuwa Yahaya and some members of the All Progressives Congress.

Izala is being detained on the orders of an area court following his arraignment for “defamation of character”.

He was arrested on Friday by policemen from Lowcost Division based on the complaint of an APC chieftain, Garba Mohammed Mairago, who accused him of using his Facebook page sometime in 2019 to write defamatory statements against him (Mairago) and some unnamed members of the APC in the state.

He was also accused of critising the policies and programmes of Governor Yahaya’s administration.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Joel Peter, on Tuesday told the court that the accused was charged with one-count charge of defamation of character, which was contrary to Section 391 of the Penal Code Law.

Therefore, his defense counsels, Habu Abdu and Benjamin Sati, applied for his bail under Sections 36 (5), 36 (B) of the 1999 constitution as amended and Sections 340 (1), 341 (3) and 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC).

However, Peter objected the bail application and told the court that the accused person may jump bail or obstruct the ongoing police investigation if he was released from detention.

The presiding judge, Chief Magistrate Bello Shariff, adjourned the case until September 8 for ruling on bail application and ordered that the accused be remanded in Gombe Central Correctional Centre.

In March, two members of the PDP in Gombe State, Atiku Boza-Boza and Adamu Babale, were also detained in prison following their arraignment in court for allegedly insulting the state governor.
