Coronavirus may never go away and populations around the world will have to learn to live with it, the World Health Organisation said on Wednesday.

Mike Ryan, an Executive Director with the World Health Organisation, says the virus may just become one of the viruses around the world that kill people annually.

The virus first emerged in Wuhan, China, late last year and has since infected more than 4.2 million people worldwide.  Michael Joseph Ryan is Executive Director of the World Health Organization's Health Emergencies Programme where he leads the team responsible for the international containment and treatment of COVID-19.

He said, “We have a new virus entering the human population for the first time and therefore it is very hard to predict when we will prevail over it.

“This virus just may become another endemic virus in our communities and this virus may never go away. HIV hasn’t gone away.

“I’m not comparing the two diseases but I think it is important that we’re realistic. I don’t think anyone can predict when or if this disease will disappear

“HIV has not gone away — but we have come to terms with the virus.”

People in Potiskum, Gashua and Nguru, three major towns in Yobe State, have continued to express concern over rising number of what is described as ‘mysterious’ deaths.

There are huge concerns among residents that such deaths may be connected to Coronavirus.

At least 741 people were reported dead in one month, with more deaths recorded on daily basis.

A resident of Nguru told SaharaReporters that at least 12 people were buried daily in recent weeks.

In Gashua, the graveyard had been witnessing massive expansion on daily basis as a result of sudden and frequent deaths.

Despite this, Yobe State Government officials have been claiming that the massive deaths were as a result of malaria and other seasonal ailments.

State officials, politicians and state-controlled social media groups have unveiled a massive propaganda to divert attention from the suspected possible community transmission of Coronavirus in some parts of the state.

The plan includes attacking those, who use any platform to ask for thorough investigation on daily loss of lives in the state.

SaharaReporters confirmed that those, who show symptoms of Coronavirus, never get their sample taken and mostly left at emergency sections of hospitals till they died.

The sudden death of the ambulance driver of Gashua General Hospital escalated fear both in the hospital and in the town.

A visit to the hospital also shows that there is no plan on the ground and no ambulance on standby to convey those in critical condition to the right place to prevent the spread of the dreadful disease.

“Many people within and outside Yobe State have been stunned by total lack of competence and gross failure of Yobe State Government and the committee handling COVID-19 in the state,” said a resident of Potiskum, who craved anonymity.

Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Wednesday directed the sack of a government driver that unilaterally attended to a person evacuated with a COVID-19 ambulance in Ilorin, the state capital.

He also directed the issuance of queries to top officials of the state's Ministry of Health for failing to act with necessary caution and expertise in the handling of the incident that was recorded in a video footage that has since gone viral.

Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, in a statement condemned the shoddy handling of the man said to be going through a hard time.  Kwara State governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq

The statement reads, “The governor totally condemns the shoddy handling of the gentleman, who was clearly going through a hard time.

“He has directed that the driver be fired immediately. As the investigation revealed, the driver failed to heed clear directive not to take any action until the Rapid Response Team arrives the scene. He evacuated the gentleman with the help of members of the public without waiting for the arrival of the RRT.

"The governor further directed that members of the RRT be queried, while other steps are being taken to ensure this incident does not repeat itself. Involving just anybody in the evacuation of a suspected case, as was seen in the footage, was a clear and dangerous violation of COVID-19 safety protocols. The government equally finds it quite distasteful and unacceptable that the driver, who had long been involved in such operations, made unethical comments to somebody in distress.

"That incident was avoidable, and we sincerely apologise to the gentleman and to the people of Kwara State for the embarrassing development. We assure them this will not happen again.”

Commissioner of Police in Ondo State has called on officers manning entry points to prevent anyone from sneaking into the state.

Adie said he had been receiving reports that many of the vehicles and trucks used in transporting essential commodities were being used to smuggle passengers into the state.

This, according to him, was also putting the state and residents at risk of contracting Coronavirus.  Ondo Police Commissioner Adie

Recall that there had been growing concerns on the influx of "almajiris" from North into Ondo State recently.

Speaking on the issue, Adie said, “To continue to see or hear of inter-state passenger transport vehicles into Ondo State while we (police) man all entry-points into the state puts us in bad light.

"With the effect of COVID-19 on all human endeavours, our duty to save life at this time is sacrosanct and can only be achieved when it is done with humane touch and affection.

"I will therefore warn that men in all border posts must be extremely and judiciously vigilant never to allow anybody or vehicle without the authorization of government entry into the state.

"I have directed that all trucks conveying foodstuffs and essential commodities be properly checked as some of them now hide some restive passengers along with the goods they carry."

Adie tasked the officers to display more professionalism mostly during this period of Coronavirus and lockdown in the country.

A former governor of Kaduna State, Balarabe Musa, has expressed displeasure with a policy initiated by northern governors, which has led to the repatriation of almajiris to their home states.

Balarabe in an exclusive interview with SaharaReporters on Wednesday, said the deportation of the almajiri children was “highly irresponsible and against national unity”.

He said, “It is highly irresponsible, it was done without relevant information and sadly it is an avoidance of responsibility.

“It is against national unity. It is a national problem and it should be solved nationally, not by pushing the problem to another person.

“The solution is free and compulsory primary and compulsory education for Nigerians wherever they live, together with easily available post-secondary education throughout Nigeria.

"This is the solution to the problem of almajiri. Nigerians have been fighting for this since 1960 but all the Nigerian leaders have failed to do this. The only Nigerian leaders who faced this in a realistic way was late Obafemi Awolowo who introduced free education in the South-West.”

In yet another grand corruption, SaharaReporters has uncovered how Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, illegally collected N45,750,00 for a Christmas party that never held.

The money, which was approved on November 22, 2019 by Obasa for one of his mistresses, who doubles as the officer to organise the Christmas party for children of lawmakers, ran contrary to the annual Christmas party organised by the Lagos State Government.

SaharaReporters gathered that despite the party not taking place, the money approved and released for it by Obasa was never accounted for.  Mudashiru Obasa

“We were all looking forward to the party after we heard over N45m was released but our hope was dashed in December when we were told no Christmas party again.

“On hearing this, almost all the Assembly staff cursed both the Speaker and his mistress for such callous depletion of our common patrimony without any service from the fund,” a staff told SaharaReporters.

Recall that SaharaReporters had published how Obasa tricked former governor of the state, Akinwunmi Ambode, to collect the sum of N350m to organise a conference for lawmakers from across the country.

In other series of reports, the online publication had exposed the fraudulent and corrupt activities of the Lagos Speaker.

While Obasa orchestrated the disbursement of N10m monthly to his wife under the guise of gender inclusiveness programme for women, he also received N17m monthly to maintain his personal residence and guest house.

He had also mobilised thugs with N50m in a bid to invade the Civic Media Lab office and burn down the place with anybody found there as a way of getting back at the online news publication for exposing his fraudulent activities in the Lagos parliament where he had been feeding fat on public funds.

Obasa and his group are targeting the leadership of Human and Environmental Development Agenda, a civil rights organisation promoting transparency and justice.

Five female officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service have been punished with redeployment to states in Nigeria where the fight against insurgency and Coronavirus is ongoing after they participated in a viral video challenge in their uniforms.

The ladies, Priscilla Irabor, Catherine J. Bakura, Blessing Alfred Udida, Binti I. Attabor and Ockiya Eneni had recorded themselves transforming from their uniforms to a wide range of outfits while participating in the challenge initiated by popular Nigerian musician, Falz.

Early in April, the NIS in a disciplinary memo asked the women to explain why the should not be subjected to punishment for allegedly violating the agency's internal code.

In a new memo seen by SaharaReporters on Wednesday, the service transferred Irabor from the Lagos State Command to the Nigeria Immigration Training School, Kano, Attabor was posted from the service headquarters in Abuja to Yobe State Command, Udida from the FCT Command was sent to the Akwa Ibom State Command, Bakura was transferred from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to the Nigeria Immigration Training School Ahoada, Rivers State, while Eneni was moved from the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card production facility to the Borno State Command.   See Also Sahara Reporters Nigerian Immigration Service Threatens To Sack Employees For Participating In Falz ‘Bop Daddy’ Video Challenge

The agency also stated that the relocation will be at the expense of the affected female officers involved and must be done within seven days.

This is despite the ban on inter-state travels and closure of airports in the country due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.

200 years ago the Aare Kakanfo of the ancient Oyo Empire and the self-proclaimed Oba of Ilorin, Aare Afonja, rebelled against the Alaafin of Oyo and entered into a military alliance with a Fulani advisor, sorcerer and mercenary by the name of Alimi.

Predictably Alimi betrayed him and he ended up being tortured, dethroned and murdered. Not only did Alimi and his Fulani warriors kill him but they also murdered all his sons in the most cruel and barbaric fashion.

Alimi and his family took the throne for themselves and consequently the Oyo Empire, and by extension the Oduduwa nation, lost Ilorin to the Fulani and to the sons of Usman Dan Fodio.   Femi Fani-Kayode

Ever since that day a Fulani Emir, from Alimi's "Gambari" family and lineage, armed with a flag and staff of authority from the Sultan of Sokoto, has ruled Ilorin.

There is no gainsaying the fact that the Gambaris are trusted servants and bonded slaves of the Sokoto Caliphate.

They see themselves as the guardians, protectors and defenders of the Caliphate's southern border and they serve and protect its traditions, its faith and its political and economic interests. This has been the case for the last 200 years.

It is for this reason that they are often referred to by the sons and daughters of Oduduwa as 'mesu jamba' (meaning a "shifty, unreliable and treacherous").

To add to that, the saying goes "beware of the Gambaris and the descendants of Alimi".

Enter Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, Buhari's new Chief of Staff and Nigeria's former representative at the United Nations.

Contrary to popular belief and despite his second name, "Agboola", this man is NOT a son of the south west or an Oduduwan but a Fulani Prince from the Royal house in Ilorin.

He is a descendant of Alimi. He is a Gambari. And to cap it all his brother, Emir Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu- Gambari, is the present Emir of Ilorin.

His forefathers stole our sacred Oduduwan lands, took our throne, carved up and divided our Empire, enslaved our people and have persecuted our leaders in Ilorin for the last 200 years denying them of their most basic liberties and rights.

And worse of all they have done this with the full blessing and support of the Sokoto Caliphate and the Sultan of Sokoto.

Wlith the appointment of Gambari as the President's Chief of Staff, for the first time in our history, we have a Fulani President and a Fulani Chief of Staff both serving a Fulani Government with a Fulani agenda.

This has never happened before and very soon the results will be self-evident. To make matters worse Gambari is himself a hardliner and he was Buhari's Foreign Minister in 1984 when the latter was military Head of State. He served a tyrant and a dictator before and he is serving a tyrant and a dictator again.

And he served not just ANY tyrant and dictator but Nigeria's greatest military tyrant and dictator and now he is set to serve Nigeria's greatest civilian tyrant and dictator.

Unlike his predecessor in office the late Abba Kyari who was a Shuwa Arab, Gambari is a Fulani. His only interest throughout his distinguished career as a career diplomat was to do nothing but further and protect the interest and hegemonic agenda of the Caliphate in Nigeria and to justify and rationalise its greed, brutality, barbarity and excesses before the civilised world in various international fora.

Now he has come to help estsblish and entrench Buhari's Islamisation and Fulanisation agenda. We welcome him and we will engage him in battle.

Abba Kyari has gone. A hardline Islamic fundamentalist and Fulani irredentist has now taken over his job. Nigerians will see the difference.

For those of us that have been in the struggle to liberate our people from the tyranny of Buhari for the last five years it is "game on" and "back to the trenches".

The ceasefire is over and the war against ethnic and religious bondage and against injustice, subjugation, domination, nepotism, servitude and slavery has started again. May the best man win.
