Golfer Tiger Woods has been injured in a car crash.
Woods is in surgery after suffering "multiple leg injuries" in a car crash in Los Angeles, California.

The LA County Sheriff's Department said that it "responded to a single-vehicle rollover" accident in which the "vehicle sustained major damage".
The 15-time golf major champion, 45, had to be "extricated from the wreck" by firefighters and paramedics, a BBC report said.
Woods' agent Mark Steinberg said: "He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support."
Steinberg confirmed the detail about the American having sustained "multiple leg injuries".
Woods was at the Riviera Country Club in LA at the weekend as host of the Genesis Invitational.
A statement from the LA County Sheriff's Department said it responded to the crash "on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes" on Tuesday morning.
It added: "Mr Woods was extricated from the wreck with the 'jaws of life' by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries."
Woods was involved in a car crash in November 2009 which eventually led to admissions of infidelity and the breakdown of his marriage. He then took a break from golf but returned shortly afterwards.
Following five wins in 2013, Woods started just 24 events in the next four years because of chronic back pain and multiple surgeries.
In 2017 Woods was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence when he was found asleep at the wheel of his car. He later pleaded guilty to reckless driving.
He had five prescription drugs in his system as he recovered from the spinal fusion surgery that ultimately gave him a second golfing career.
Woods ended an 11-year wait for a major title when he won the Masters at Augusta in 2019.
He jointly holds the record for most PGA Tour wins at 82 with Sam Snead and is three behind Jack Nicklaus' mark of 18 major titles.
Woods recently said he had hoped to play in this year's Masters in April after having a fifth back surgery in January.
He ended 2019 sixth in golf's world rankings but is now 50th.
Accident Sports News AddThis : Original Author : SaharaReporters, New York Disable advertisements :The kidnappers who captured the driver of Adamawa United Football Club, have reduced the ransom demanded from N10 million to N1 million.
The development comes hours after they reduced the ransom from N50 million to N10 million.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports, Abubakar Jada, disclosed this in Yola on Tuesday.
The gunmen had attacked the premiership side's players along Benin-Ore Expressway on Friday, dispossessing them of their belongings before whisking away the driver into the bush.
Jada noted that following intense negotiations, the gang kept reducing the ransom gradually from the initial N50 million to N10 million on Monday and then N1 million on Tuesday.
The official, who noted that officials worked round the clock to ensure release of the driver, expressed optimism that the victim would soon be freed.
The Sports Writers Association (SWAN) had in a statement signed by its secretary general, Jude Okpara, condemned the incident, urging the Nigerian government to address the rising insecurity situation in the country.
The Media and Publicity Secretary of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Emma Powerful, has condemned media reports being circulated that six children were killed in Anambra State by its members on Thursday.
Powerful said this in a press release titled, “It's Ridiculous To Link ESN, IPOB With Killing Of Children In Anambra” made available to SaharaReporters on Tuesday.
Hope Uzodinma
There was a report on Friday that children numbering six were murdered when IPOB members took on a Fulani community in Oba, Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The report (not SaharaReporters) said the children who lost their lives were under 10 years old.
In the statement on Tuesday, IPOB said, “The attention of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been drawn to a malicious and mischievous media report trying to link the IPOB and the Eastern Security Network, ESN, with the purported killing of six children in Anambra State. Fabricated claims like this are only akin to giving the dog a bad name in order to hang it.
“Those behind this lame and poorly scripted dummy stupidly forgot the main reason for the establishment of ESN, and the mission of IPOB. We came to save lives and not to waste them. We don't kill those we daily put our lives on the line to save and protect. Associating us with such a barbaric act is not only insulting but a lie from the pit of hell.
“But for the sake of the gullible, we wouldn't have bothered to dignify distracting and foolish reports like this with a response. And this will be the last time we will respond to trash like this. We had no hand in the purported incident.
The IPOB spokesman also said that no operative of the ESN was arrested during the Nigerian military raid in Orlu last Thursday.
“We also want to debunk the lies by the Nigerian military that those it arrested in Orlu during their genocidal raid and airstrike last week are ESN operatives. It's just unfortunate that the Janjaweed Nigeria Army which capitulates before rag-tag Boko Haram could curiously arrest innocent Biafran civilians at Orlu branding them ESN operatives.
“Till tomorrow, the Nigeria military should know that its poorly-trained troops are no match for the gallant and formidable ESN operatives. We are miles ahead of them, and can never be subdued by them. Their propaganda cannot work.”
The proscribed group warned the Nigerian Army that its members should not be harmed.
It mocked Imo State governor for conniving with the Nigerian government to allegedly kill innocent citizens in Imo State at the time when northern governors are negotiating with bandits and terrorists to pay them ransoms.
“We equally want to warn the Nigerian military to ensure nothing happens to the Jewish Rabbi Kelechi Nwachukwu and his family as well as other IPOB members they arrested out of frustration following their humiliation by the indomitable ESN operatives at Orlu.
“We must warn the Nigeria military as well as the Supreme Court Administrator in Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, to ensure that nothing happens to these IPOB members and 33 synagogue worshippers arrested in Orlu and paraded in the public as if they were criminals.
“Hope Uzodinma should be ashamed of himself for masterminding the killing and persecution of his unarmed people at a time his fellow northern governors are openly negotiating with armed bandits and terrorists. While the northern leaders are busy facilitating amnesty for mass murderers, Hope Uzodinma and his fellow traitors in the South-East are sponsoring the destruction of their own people. But these saboteurs and Fulani slaves in our land must reap the fruit of treachery!”
Insecurity News AddThis : Original Author : SaharaReporters, New York Disable advertisements :An association of the Fulani herders has said it is demanding N495 billion in compensation for the property they lost to the Shasha Market crisis in Ibadan, Oyo State, and the recent #EndSARS protests in the country.
The herders said they had video and photo evidence of all those who were killed as well as their property which were destroyed and had forwarded same to the Presidency.
Governor Seyi Makinde
The association stated this on Monday at a press conference, while arguing that the herdsmen had a right to live and do their business in any part of the country as guaranteed by the Nigerian constitution.
In a video of the conference, a spokesman for the association said, “151 people lost their lives at the Shasha incident and then during the #EndSARS protest, we also lost not less than 100 people. Yes, we have requested for N475 billion for the loss of lives and property destroyed. We also lost more than 100 trucks.
“We have the states and villages, pictures and videos. We have the property that was even damaged. We are not saying what we are saying in vain because we have all the pictures. We have detailed pictures of people who have been killed.
“This has been sent to all quarters – the Presidency, the National Assembly, the Inspector General of Police, the Office of the National Security Adviser and all. We have sent them to the United States embassy, the United Nations, the German Embassy and the British Parliament.
“There is no response from all the quarters we have made contact with. If by (February) 24, nothing has been done, action will commence. The herdsmen have a right to live and do business in any part of the country. That is what the constitution says.”
The Shasha crisis between the Yoruba and the Hausa/Fulani at the market engulfed Oyo State in the second week of February, forcing the state government on February 13 to order the “immediate closure of the market in the Akinyele Local Government Area of Ibadan.”
Several persons were reported killed, as Hausa and Yoruba people clashed at Shasha.
Three days later, the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and some northern governors visited the market to assess the destruction at the scene of the clash between Yoruba and Hausa communities.
The governors were Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; Kano State Governor, Abdulahi Ganduje; Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle and Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sanni.
Makinde, who had expressed shock at the level of destruction during a recent visit to the market, said those who suffered losses would be compensated.
Governor Bagudu, who lamented the sad incident between the two groups, had, however, promised that the northern governors would give necessary support to Makinde in restoring normalcy and redeeming the lost property.
Makinde on Tuesday directed that the market should be reopened, saying continued closure would impact negatively on the finances of the people affected by it.

The travellers told journalists that the bandits’ ammunition was “out of this world”, adding that they had never seen such sophisticated weapons in their lives.
Some of the abducted travelers from Niger State Transport Authority (NSTA) bus Daily Trust
They stated these in separate interviews with journalists in Minna on Monday, recalling that their experiences were terrible and horrible.
According to Daily Trust, one of them, Hajia Jummai Isah, said, “They were threatening us and beating the men. They really beat the hell out of the men, but all they wanted from us was money. They kept demanding money from us so that they would spare us. If not, they said they would kill us. They used to give us dirty water to drink from the stream.
“Their ammunition is out of this world. I’d never seen that kind of arms before in my life. They have different kinds of assorted weapons.”
Muhammed Kindagi, a civil servant with the Niger State Science and Technical School Board, said, “If we ate in the morning, we wouldn’t eat another one till evening, with contaminated water to drink.
“We were sleeping on bare floors in the bush. We were not tied, but guns were pointed at our heads and they were beating us constantly every day.
“They beat our women too. There was one useless one among them who didn’t bother whether you’re a woman or a man before he started beating you. They beat us with sticks. As they’re beating us, they’re asking us to bring money.
“They asked us to forgive them and we said we forgave them. We asked them to forgive us too so that we could leave the bush.”
Another freed passenger, Hamza Muhammed Buhari, said, “They starved us because they only gave us a handful of food that was not enough. We cooked rice with contaminated water, while about ten of us took a bottle of contaminated water. We were tortured daily. It was indeed bad and terrible.”
The freed passengers had been taken to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the 27 students, three staff members and family members of Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State abducted last Wednesday were still in captivity as of the time of filing this report.

The group made the threat in a video posted on Tuesday by Africa Independent Television (AIT).

In the video, the group accused the Nigerian government of marginalising the region and failing to deliver on the amnesty programme.
Reading from a statement, a masked member of the group said there has been no meaningful development in the area since they accepted an amnesty programme offered by the government.
“Till date, there are no schools, no potable water, no light, no hospital and access roads for our people to enjoy,” the masked man said.
Also, according to the group, there has been no meaningful progress regarding the proposed Ogoni clean-up project.
The group said the Nigerian government “has decided to play politics against the meaningful development of our people”.
It said the way “Zamfara gold mining sector is being handled by their people”, the people of Niger Delta should also be allowed to manage their resources.
It said, “Over the years, the Niger Delta people have made frantic efforts to create an enabling environment… but to our great dismay, the Nigerian government over the years has decided to handle the issues of the Niger Delta with kid gloves. They have betrayed the struggle and have left the people to their fate.
“Rather, what is visible is the presence of military gunboat and the numerous military personnel dispersed to the Niger Delta who are killing, raping, and maiming the innocent people of the region.
“Look at the security surveillance contract taking place in our region through the federal government, these agencies in place have decided to shortchange our people. Now in our territorial waters, it is an Israeli company that is providing waterway security which we have competent hands with expert knowledge to manage.
“Don’t worry, because we are coming to destroy all your infrastructure in Abuja and Lagos. As a group committed to giving total liberation to our people, we will destroy the oil facilities both onshore and offshore in no distant time, we will be seen to be crippling the Nigerian economy.”
The group nominated former President Goodluck Jonathan and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, to mediate between it and the Nigerian government.
Any insurgency in the South South region will worsen the economic situation in the country as the bulk of Nigeria’s income is derived from oil, which is mined from the area. It will also worsen the state of insecurity in the country which is already fighting insurgency and banditry.

Insecurity News AddThis : Original Author : SaharaReporters, New York Disable advertisements :Some residents of Igbokuta/Gberigbe community at Ijede Local Government Area of Ikorodu, Lagos State have alleged invasion by landgrabbers and operatives of the Intelligence Response Squad in their community
They also accused the officers, whose services were employed by the landgrabbers, of shooting indiscriminately at villagers, hitting them with vehicles and destroying valuables in the process.
In a report sent to SaharaReporters, the residents also alleged that the police officers took away a few motorbikes belonging to community members and left many injured.
The report read: “IRT officers in connivance with Kamarudeen Lamina, aka Sir Kay; Akinrinle Micheal, aka Amat and Layiwola Jimoh Nosiru, who are known land-grabbers unleashed terror on people of Igbokuta/Gberigbe community of Ijede Local Government on February 18, 2021.
“The trio mentioned above are bigwig land-grabbers who employed the IRT policemen led by Inspector Hameed Olakunle Oyewole.
“The landgrabbers sought the engagement of the IRT officers who came to the community to shoot at residents, hit them with vehicles and destroy properties and valuables, including houses. They also took away a few motorbikes belonging to community members. Scores were injured while an elderly man was not spared in the barbaric act of the officers.
“The officers were alleged to have also taken N22,000.00 from one Aremu Wahab while another person's motorbike was also stolen by the officers.”
They also said two residents of the community, Jamiu and Lukman, were arrested by the IRT officers after being accused of committing a crime they knew nothing about.
Speaking with SaharaReporters, a resident simply identified as Yunus, said some thugs had accompanied the party and unleashed terror on the people by breaking glass windows and doors of houses.
He also accused the suspected thugs shooting indiscriminately at people and robbing them of their possessions during the day and at night.
According to him, the people are desperately seeking the intervention of the state government as they cannot report to the Imota police station for fear of being arrested.
He said, “Even those policemen that came with the land-grabbers were shooting indiscriminately at people, in a place where we have children, pregnant women and other vulnerable sets of people who might not be able to run to escape danger.
“The police at Imota police station say it's none of their businesses. Even we we can't go to the police station because we fear that we may be locked up. In December 2020, we petitioned the area commander on this issue because it has been going on for 12 years. He assigned two officers who followed us to see how the thugs had damaged someone's property. When we got there, these thugs beat an officer, removed his teeth and collected his ID card from him.
“Immediately, we wrote a petition to the police headquarters in Abuja, and they also wrote a petition against us. Those in Abuja saw that they were thieves. The person who brought them is not the original beneficiary of that land; his father's house is in Akure and he is claiming another person's inheritance in Lagos.
“When the police saw the trouble we were facing, they warned those guys that they shouldn't threaten us. They asked us all to sign an undertaking that we would maintain peace for three weeks. We were still in the process of maintaining peace when they suddenly went to bring some policemen and thugs last Thursday, shooting at people, stealing and doing all sorts of things in town. They shot at one of the family members who owns the house; the police were actually shooting at him.”
For Dele Bello, one of the residents who was shot, the duty of the government to protect its people is long forgotten.
Bello said he only escaped death because he had been ‘spiritually fortified’. He said he would have been dead if not for that.
“I was shot at, someone pointed at me. I was just coming into the street when I suspected someone was pointing at me. I didn't know the thugs were already in the street. I saw the bike man (commercial motorcyclist) who pointed at me and asked him why he did that, he's someone I know.
“Immediately the policemen saw that I stopped the guy, they started shooting from afar. They were chasing after me with bullets. One hit me but I'm recovering already. If I had nothing on me, I could have died.”
He said he no longer could no longer sleep at home for fear of being killed by thugs who had taken over the community, noting that they once attacked people during a community meeting and seized their phones.
“I don't sleep at home; I move from one place to another. I've left the house with my family. We don't have anywhere to stay now. We just pass the night anywhere. I can't go to my house because it is one of the houses the landgrabbers are interested in. They've laid a siege to a house my mother inherited from her father.
“These thugs are so rude that while the community was having a meeting, they went there to collect people's phone, beat them up, and destroyed people's property. My younger brothers' house was burgled; they went in through the window. They took everything in his house.”
Bello also recalled that a young man was shot during the invasion of Igbokuta but rather than report to the police station, he left for Osogbo for treatment.
“A very young man was shot and we told him to report at the station so the matter would be treated, but he ran away. He said he didn't want the police to say he was an armed robber. They've taken the young man to Osogbo for treatment now, we hope he gets better. We don't have a government,” he said.
Speaking further, Yunus said the affected persons had petitioned the police headquarters in Abuja on the current situation.
“We've spoken with them and they are processing it. As it stands now, those IRT officers went with two community people, Jamiu and Lukman. We don't know whether they want to kill them or keep them or maybe they've poisoned them because we were told that they were sick.
“The police have arrested them for three days now, is it proper? A case that is in the court of law and we can't report to Imota police station. The station has been bought over by these bandits, even the Divisional Police Officer there,” he said.

Chairperson of the panel, Justice Doris Okuwobi (retired), disclosed this on Tuesday.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu
Adewuyi, through his lawyer, Debo Adeleke, had alleged that the police refused to release 26 acres of farmland seized from him since 2013.
He asked the panel to summon Adamu so that the police could be compelled to release the seized farmland.
Adeleke said a federal court judgment in 2017 ordered the police to release his farmland located at Age-Mowo near Badagry and to negotiate with him the amount to pay for damages and physical assault.
He added the police have refused to release the farmland or engage in alternative dispute resolution, despite efforts to compel them to do so.
