Thugs have again attacked peaceful #ENDSARS protesters in front of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Alausa, Ikeja.

This attack makes it the third consecutive day thugs had attacked demonstrators.

The protesters were holding a candlelight session for victims of extrajudicial killings by SARS officials when they were attacked.

Some of the protesters sustained injuries while scampering for safety.

The thugs were, however, repelled by the protesters and normalcy was restored to the area.

The protesters have accused the government of mobilising thugs to disrupt the ongoing peaceful protest.

On Thursday, the thugs were conveyed in buses owned and operated by the Lagos State Government to venue of the demonstration.

A senior police officer, M.A Kaura, on Friday in Abuja rescued a woman from being attacked by an angry mob along Airport Road.

The woman was said to have insulted protesters when she told them that the demonstration was unnecessary and a waste of time.

The statement infuriated participants in the protest, who chased her in an attempt to beat her up.

It took the intervention of the policeman, who was at the scene of the incident, to save the woman.

The protesters, who had occupied and blocked the highway since morning, vowed to pass the night on the road.

Mamman Daura, a nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari, is currently in a critical condition in United Kingdom, SaharaReporters has gathered.

Top governnent officials, who spoke with one of our correspondents on Friday, disclosed that the 80-year-old had seen his health dip in recent days, raising fears among family members and close associates including President Buhari, who often relies on his counsel before making key decisions.

"He is not in good shape in London. He’s not been back since the time he was flown there. There is serious concern around his health," one source said.

Recall that in August, SaharaReporters revealed how Daura was flown to the United Kingdom for urgent medical treatment over an undisclosed ailment.

He was said to have been flown in a private jet to the UK after exhibiting respiratory difficulties with symptoms similar to Coronavirus.

He is said to have had a history of renal crisis and had regularly visited the West for medical attention.

Despite these revelations, the Presidency claimed that the former journalist travelled to UK for leisure and not for medical reasons.

The absence of Daura at the event remained a major talking point among major political players especially considering his closeness to President Buhari.

No fewer than nine indigenes of Oleh community, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, have been reportedly killed following a land dispute between the town and a neighbouring town -- Ozoro.

SaharaReporters gathered that crisis had been brewing between the two communities following a lingering boundary dispute that had defied all efforts to be resolved.

Our correspondent gathered that the indigenes of Oleh community, who went for farming on Friday morning were ambushed by some indigenes of Ozoro community where they were allegedly murdered.

As at the time of filing in this report, tension had enveloped the two communities as youths in Oleh were seen regrouping for a reprisal attack. 

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the crisis when contacted, but stated that she was yet to get the accurate figure of those killed.

She added that security had been drafted to the town to forestall any further breakdown of law and order.
