For the upteenth time, the Nigerian ruling class has launched another deadly attack on Omoyele Sowore, the National Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC) and leader of the TakeItBack Movement (TIB.) This time, it's at Unity Fountain and it's yet again the same SARS Squad that made the last attempt on Sowore and other comrades' lives during the January 1st #RevolutionNow Crossover Night. I narrowly escaped that brutality myself. The grouse of the Nigerian rulers is that Sowore is leading the most sophisticated, ideological, and consistent opposition to its current Fascist momentum which is meant to destroy the heightening hunger of millions of Nigerian workers and youths for a new and pro-people country.

The protest at Unity Fountain was called by the Femi Falana-led T-PAPS and Omoyele Sowore was invited alongside other change-seeking activists and people. As early as 6.00am, the Unity Fountain had been sealed by war-ready police and DSS officers. The police officers on the ground engaged with Sowore to reach out to FCT CP Bala, who evidently denied the order to seal the fountain. But within a few minutes, the DSP Altine-led SARS Squad stormed the venue and started shooting. DSP Altine Daniel herself shot directly at Sowore and even told him pointedly after the activist queried that; "I did!"

Sowore at the hospital after being shot

But DSP Altine and the police thugs of President Buhari have failed again. Their plan to destroy all genuine voices of dissent is shattered. This is the third deadly attack on Sowore after the Great #ENDSARS Revolt which baptized and energized the Buhari-taunted "lazy youths" and turned them to a coconut head-generation that globally 'sorosoke' for a new democratic, economically developed and sustainable, secure, and pro-people Nigeria. The fourteen days of #EndSARS was so great that it shook not only the Buhari government, but the whole world!

The last point of the 5FOR5 Demands of the #EndSARS Revolt was salary increment and welfare of police and military rank and files. We urge all sensible police and military guys to start thinking from their hearts and stop licking the anus of their officers of impunity, who are the ones 'chopping' their lives all around while the rank and files are suffering and facing the hell of insecurity and terrororism. Many police guys are ambitious state terrorists themselves, but many still have some hearts. These ones must organize and be counted amongst the millions who truly want a country of peace and prosperity. The lessons of the 2002 National Police Strike need to be learnt and advanced.

However, what are the lessons from this particular attack?

First is that the Nigerian Ruling Class is testing the waters. I witnessed the New Year 2021 Crossover attack. The drunk SARS officers were pointedly agitated to inflict deadly injuries on us all, and especially Omoyele Sowore. Same DSP Altine called his bosses after the headbutt that broke Sowore's nose by DSP Suleiman Abdulkadir, and jubilantly announced that she had captured the big fish. But the protests afterwards caused them big regrets.

Also, this second straight shooting at Sowore was almost like the one at the front of the National Assembly when the Abuja Six were arrested. That same DSP Altine-led SARS Squad, let the cat out of the bag that the Buhari government is determined to go bunkers to eliminate all forms of real and formidable opposition.

Finally, the deadly attacks on Sowore have shown that what the government fears the most is revolution! The Five-Point Demands of the #RevolutionNow of: An Economy that Works For the Masses; An Effective and Democratic End To Insecurity;  An End To Systemic Corruption and For Total System Change; The Immediate Implementation of N30,000 Minimum Wage; and Free and Quality Education and Healthcare For All hit the nails at the heads while the Coalition For Revolution (CORE)'s Charter of Demands is an altruistic and radically historic booklet that opens the road to a new thinking for a new world in a new Nigeria.

The  Buhari government is a cowardly affliction that must be defeated. Only the unity of all oppressed will instructively respond surgically and more safely to end the shenanigans of our oppressors. Scattered we may lose. From North to South, oppressions and mass poverty are things to unite us rather than divide us. Let all us all, by June 12, show the Buhari government that we all can march together in our millions to win. In the North, we march in millions to defeat Boko Haram, ISWAP, Bandits, and the state terrorists. From East to South, we march against Unknown Gunmen, Bandits, Kidnappers, and the Palliative Rogues in government. Our oppressors are one and the same in different agbada, babariga, and suits. Only by uniting all struggles of workers and youths like the January 2012 Uprising Against Subsidy Removal and the #EndSARS Revolts to a gigantic #RevolutionNow will we ever get the new Nigeria we want. As we soldier on, and Omoyele Sowore has bounced back like the lion is wont to, we point all our ten fingers of 'waka' to boo the Bubu and the ruling class in the words taken from Wole Soyinka's "Abiku" that: "In vain your bangles cast!"

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, disclosed this in a statement on Monday night.

According to Mustapha, Kingibe’s appointment is to help promote peace in the country and its region.

The SGF said the Special Envoy will, among other things, monitor developments in Chad and the Lake Chad Basin Region; aid reconciliation and seamless progress towards return to democratic rule at the end of the current Transitional Military Council’s rule.

“The Special Envoy will amongst others: Monitor developments in Chad and the Lake Chad Basin Region; aid reconciliation and seamless progress towards return to democratic rule at the end of the current Transitional Military Council’s rule,” the statement reads.

“The special envoy is also expected to collaborate with member countries and partners in the region with similar initiatives to restore stability, promote peace and, security; and promote any other initiative ancillary to the restoration of peace and security in Chad, the North East Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin Region.

“President Buhari has by this appointment demonstrated the determination of Nigeria to lead regional security efforts that will stabilise the Lake Chad Basin Region, bring peace to Chad and ultimately eliminate the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East zone of Nigeria.

“This is also a fulfilment of the President’s promise to General Mahamat Deby Itno, the President of the Transitional Military Council of Chad, to support a seamless progress towards return to democratic rule, when he visited Nigeria in May 2021,” Mustapha said.

He added that Kingibe, a former SGF, is an accomplished multi-lingual diplomat who has participated in previous Nigeria-led reconciliation talks on Chad.

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has advised northerners against travelling to the South-East due to the insecurity in the region.

In a statement signed by its National Chairman, Audu Ogbe, the group warned northerners to cancel any trip to the Southeast region unless necessary.

The group, however, said if there's a reason why they should travel, the travellers should take every necessary precaution, including linking up with the security agencies at the place/places to be visited.

It condemned the killing of Ahmed Gulak, a former aide to Nigeria's ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, who was intercepted and shot dead on his way to Sam Mbakwe Airport in Imo State.

The former Presidential aide and Adamawa politician, who in 2019 served as the chairman of the All Progressives Congress committee that conducted the governorship primaries in Imo, was ambushed by six gunmen.

The ACF attributed Gulak's death to the uprising in the South-East allegedly caused by the Eastern Security Network (ESN), a security outfit of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The statement read, “The ACF has noticed of late with increasing concern the attacks on/killing of Northerners resident and/or visiting the South, particularly the South-East.

“It was so bad at a point in February this year that the northern traders who normally supply the food needs of the South, the Amalgamated Union Food and Cattle Distributors of Nigeria (AUFCDN), embarked on strike action to make the point that their lives also mattered. The ACF was among those who put pressure, on, and ultimately convinced, the AUFCDN to call off the strike. The ACF did that in the spirit of ONE NIGERIA.

”Yesterday, Sunday 30th May, 2021, one of the leaders in the North was brutally murdered on the streets of Owerri, Imo state by gunmen, most likely of IPOB and Eastern Security Network (ESN), who have been waging a public campaign of killings and other forms of brutalities, to realise their dream country of Biafra.

“The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) hereby issues a very strong advisory to all northerners who may wish to travel to the South East, to weigh the importance and necessity of such travels. Unless such trips are absolutely necessary and of compelling nature, like matters of life & death, they should not be made.

“And where the trip must be undertaken, the traveller should take every security precaution in his or her movements while there, including linking with the security agencies at the place/places to be visited.

“The need to issue this travel advisory has become necessary against the backdrop of history, wherein events such the killings of northern leaders in 1966 triggered the events that led to a civil war that cost the country thousands of lives, and untold suffering to millions of innocent people. To be forewarned is to be forearmed, and a stitch in time saves nine!

“The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) also wishes to call, with the strongest voice, on the security agencies to do everything possible to apprehend those who assassinated Alh. (Barr) Ahmed Gulak in cold blood and bring them to justice.

”The lives of northerners, and indeed of all Nigerians matter, and the ACF cannot keep mute when our people, and indeed all Nigerian, are murdered in cold blood by misguided and atrocious people.

“Unfortunately in the midst of all this serious national crisis, it would appear that the entire narrative from the South-East has been taken over by IPOB and so-called unknown gunmen to the exclusion of established leaders. This is worrisome.”

Global watchdog, Amnesty International in Abuja, Nigeria on Monday launched the #TalkYourTruth campaign, saying it is to allow citizens to speak up and express their voices in the middle of the rising human rights abuses.

AI stated that it is beginning the campaign to protect the “freedom of expression in Nigeria as critics, journalists and individuals who express dissenting views face intimidation, threats and sometimes arrest by security forces.”

The AI Country Director, Osai Ojigho, stated this in her address, adding that on many occasions, Nigerian authorities respond with violence and threats to individuals and groups who express dissenting opinions.

“It is unacceptable that in Nigeria, those who exercise freedom of expression through critical opinions sometimes face threats, verbal and physical assaults, indiscriminate arrest, torture, detention and prosecution through trumped-up charges and abuse of the Cybercrimes and Anti-Terrorism Laws. Nigerians must be free to express opinions without fear,” she added.

The AI recalled the cases of Yahaya Aminu, 21, who “remains in detention following an initial death sentence imposed on him for sharing an audio considered blasphemous on Whatsapp.”

“Salihu Tanko Yakasai popularly called Dawisu was unlawfully detained by Nigeria’s secret police, the DSS for a tweet lamenting the increasing insecurity; by condemning the kidnap of over 300 schoolgirls.

“Jaafar Jaafar, an investigative journalist fled Nigeria following death threats to his life for exposing alleged corruption in government. Abubakar Idris (Dadiyata) a critic of Nigerian government was abducted by gunmen at home in Kaduna State on August 1, 2019. His whereabouts are still unknown,” the AI added.

It stated that with the launch of the #TalkYourTruth campaign, Nigerian authorities must show tangible commitment to freedom and also to “immediately and unconditionally drop frivolous charges against those who are persecuted for exercising their right to freedom of expression.”

The killers of Ahmed Gulak, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain who was shot dead in Imo State on Sunday morning were arrested.

The announcement was made by the Nigeria Police noting that the driver of the vehicle that took him to the airport was said to have been grilled by security agents and he described the vehicles the hoodlums used as a Toyota Camry 2005 (silver colour), Toyota Sienna 1998 model (gold colour), Toyota Hilux (white colour) and Lexus RX 330 (gold colour).

Ahmed Gulak

It was learnt that before Gulak was killed, the Imo Airport road was blocked by some persons.

“Police teams from the special forces, PMF, IRT, Imo State Command Tactical Units who have all reached the scene of the killing were directed to immediately proceed on patrol and look for those vehicles.

“Fortunately at Afor Enyi Ogwgu junction in Same LGA, the police teams came in contact with the hoodlums with same vehicles mentioned by the driver. The hoodlums were said to have confiscated a trailer loaded with onions from the North at Enyiogugu, Mbaise, and were busy sharing the onions to the local population as they also took positions to protect themselves and attack any incoming security agents. Three people were killed in that incident.

“The hoodlums on sighting the police teams immediately opened fire on the teams and the gallant teams returned fire and eventually fatally wounded 10 of the hoodlums during the gun battle while others were pursued as they escaped with their vehicles. Three of the four vehicles– Toyota Sienna, Toyota Hilux and Toyota Camry used by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)/Eastern Security Network (ESN) terrorists for their operation were demobilised/recovered and 7 of the terrorists with bullet wounds were completely burnt down inside the Toyota Sienna and Hilux vehicles that caught fire during the gun battle.

“Three Ak47 rifles, 1 English pistol, 5 Ak47 magazines, 92 Ak47 ammunition, several charms and 3 operational vehicles of the IPOB/ESN were recovered.

“Serious efforts are in progress to trace and arrest several wounded IPOB/ESN terrorists who are hiding in the surrounding forests and villages. The 3 bodies of the IPOB/ESN terrorists not burnt down were brought to the police state headquarters while efforts to recover the burnt bodies of the hoodlums to the police state HQ are in progress.”

Governor Hope Uzodimma's Special Assistant on Social Media, Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, said the arrest is a major boost in the investigation into Gulak’s murder.

“I can confirm from intel from credible security sources that IPOB terrorists were responsible for the attack that murdered Sen. Ahmed Gulak and they have been apprehended, and scores neutralised in the process by our gallant security operatives.”

Before you call me names, read and understand what I have to say.  Yesterday I listened to a recording of Nnamdi Kanu spitting out orders regarding the May 30, 2021, observation of Biafra Heroes lost in the various struggles with the Nigeria State.  There was something very sinister, illegal, and wrong with Kanu ordering schools to be shut down, airports to be shut down, markets to close down, people to only go to church gatherings and march back to their homes or be killed if found otherwise on the streets.  He said he would allow the Nigeria crude oil miners to fly back and forth because they are doing important work and I wonder why since he hates Nigeria so much!  Is he getting paid by Nigeria from the oil money somehow especially since he is refusing to unite Igbo youths with the rest of the proBiafran groups knowing that unity will make Nigeria see that our people are serious and force Nigeria to listen to us?  His words, anyways, sent chills over my skin and made me fear for my people in realization that they are unwittingly and ignorantly creating a monster that will oppress and enslave them in time to come.  I know that the Nigeria State have been very wicked to you, my people; but please do not, because of your hate for Nigeria, allow something worse to come upon you.

Think about it, Nnamdi Kanu does not even have any political power and he is assuming to wield such over a people and a country, ordering that all airports, schools, markets be shut down and no movement of people on the streets at all. He said, “you will be a dead person if you are found on the street.  You will be killed.”  Why?  Why would one person who is not even an elected official be allowed to put a people in such fear?  So many people in Igbo land today are living in fear of Kanu and the indigenous people of Biafra (ipob) organization members. I am in the USA, but I am afraid for my people in Nigeria.  In healthy countries like the USA and UK and even Germany who celebrate all sorts of remembrance for their fallen heroes, the citizens unquestionably go about their daily businesses as they please while civil servants and private organizations workers enjoy a day or two off from the daily grind.  Nobody orders the masses to stay home or be killed if found on the street on public holidays.  We are celebrating Memorial Day holiday now in the USA, and even I am going out to work on my side hustle which is Uber driving that I do on my spare time to help fund my humanitarian work; and nobody is threatening to kill me if I do not stay home.

This man Kanu has morphed into a terrorist and shedding the blood of the youths does not move him at all. Uncountable numbers of Igbo youths are getting killed and maimed daily as a result of this ego tussle between him and the governors and he does not even consider stopping the internal war to restrategize.  Imagine what he will do with absolute power that you are giving him over our people.  You are building an emperor that will take away your basic human rights and freedom.  Just today in the international news, there is a report that North Korean orphans have been forced into hard labor of coal mining.  Most of those orphans are lads under the age of 10 from what I could see.  I saw a video this morning where a captured Eastern Security Network (ESN) operative under Kanu who was captured and asked what he had benefited from being ESN soldier under Kanu.  The young man said he has benefitted NOTHING.  Now tell me what is different from the orphans forced into hard labor of coal mining and the young soldier led into being a killing machine under Kanu and getting paid nothing? Do you think that such a thing will happen in a healthy and democratic society where the voice of majority is the power and law?  No.  Such a thing only happens in a sick society where one man is given or takes power all to himself and commands whatever he wants and the whole remaining population of that society becomes subservient or slave to that one man, i.e. North Korea, as well as the Biafra that ipob under Kanu is agitating for

Some of you might think that you will gladly give Nnamdi Kanu all the powers he wants if he would get Nigeria to let Biafra go.  But, trust me, he cannot do that alone with this strategy he is using, and you will not like his use of that power even if he gets Biafra freedom by force.  He will become a dictator just like Kim Jung Un of North Korea.  If you doubt me, just listen to how he talks to you all now.  When he rains curses and abuses on Nigerians, he does not separate Biafrans from it.  He calls the whole Nigerians including Biafrans “the most stupid people on earth.”  So do not think that he thinks any better of you. And to be fair and always honest, you are truly no better than everyone else in Nigeria.  All Nigerians are highly culpable in the decadence of the country’s sociopolitical and economic condition, though there is a more productive way to address it than labeling everyone with insulting tags like Kanu does.  Please note that I do not hate Kanu. I actually like Kanu better than the Igbos that are enabling him.

Further, if you still doubt me that you will not like how Kanu will handle you if given Biafra, just look back as an example when majority of the Nigerian people hated Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) for his ineptness and lack of leadership and were crying for him to resign or be voted out.  Majority of Nigerians at the same time were clamoring for Buhari (BABA as you fondly called him then) to take over.  Nigerians saw Buhari as the savior who would save them from the evil GEJ.  But what do we have now?  The same majority of Nigerians are crying for Buhari to resign and not even complete his term as they now see that Buhari is a mini dictator and cares nothing for the suffering of the masses.

Mind you, though, that the example of GEJ and Buhari will not be as serious as things will be with a publicly accepted dictator or emperor like Nnamdi Kanu.  But you can imagine how things will be by the way that Kanu speaks to everyone now and denigrates everybody including his own ipob organization officers some of whom he had called “idiots, rats, thieves, stupid,” to name a few words; and these were the nicer words he used.  Whether you agree with me or not, you know very well that Igbos could never survive as communist subjects, that can only move or stop when they are told to by a dictator.  Nobody is ever happy living under a dictatorship.  My people, be very careful what you are inviting for yourselves.  If Kanu does not unite our people and get Biafra by force (if he could), things will turn out like the Sudan separatist case study in which case ndi Igbo will be on a long deadly journey of endless wars.

You might be thinking or wanting to ask me, if not Kanu, then who else will help us?  So, that is the big problem right there.  You think that it is one person who must rise to help you while you live in total abandon.  The problem is that even Kanu and the governors he is battling with at the expense of innocent people getting killed are not the biggest problem.  The biggest problem is you, ndi Igbo, on the smaller scale, just like the biggest problem of Nigeria is the Nigerians on a larger scale, not the politician.  Ndi Igbo, you are the problem because you have failed in your social responsibilities to do your part of keeping your elected leaders accountable on the job and participating in your nation building.  For generations, you have perpetuated an evil culture that keeps you focused on unrestrained consumerism; only caring for you and your children’s stomach and watching and enjoying other people’s problems from the corner.  Nobody care about anything that does not have a direct effect on him or her.  So now, you have narcissistic opportunists in the likes of the governors, local government officials and Nnamdi Kanu enriching themselves at your expense as they capitalize on your total lack of interest in God and Country, your laziness, and ineptness to do whatever they want with your assigned resources and monthly federal allocations.  Have you seen how large and opulent the governors, the senators, the local government officials and Nnamdi Kanu live?  Have you seen their mansions and how they spend money on the good life, all on your dime (money)?  On another front, they make you think that oh they hate us too much and they are trying to kill us all; and they fill you up and get you drunk with hate and doom; while on your own, you sit and only think about your stomach, sex, marriage and parties.  No body thinks about the country or the greater good.  We must change our culture and heart conditioning first or this cycle of offense will not end.

The immediate solution right now is by unity, coalition, peaceful and consistent agitation though legal processes while being prepared to defend yourselves in the case of war; and the only group I see already working on that is the Lower Niger Congress (LNC).  LNC is not perfect, but it is the only group with a close to clear legal pathway to achieving some sort of autonomy from Nigeria or a restructure of Nigeria’s rogue Constitution. Therefore, it is imperative that all other groups including and especially the ipob supporters align with LNC and see things through for the good of all.  I urge you my people, stop stepping on your own feet, stop being too angry to see that you are hurting yourselves not the real enemy.  Wake Up.
